The Lexington Planning Commission supports the Village’s growth and development through strong planning, zoning, and design practices. Established under the Michigan Planning Enabling Act, the nine-member board is appointed by the Village President and is responsible for:

Members come from a variety of backgrounds and are residents and business owners in the Village. The commission meets monthly on the first Monday at 7:00 p.m. in Village Hall. See the commission’s most recent annual report for an idea of past activities and upcoming priorities. 

Interested in applying to join the Planning Commission? Members must be residents of Lexington, able to attend monthly meetings, bring an open mind to discussions, and be willing to put in some hours outside of meeting time to meet the commission’s goals. The Planning Commission consists of 9 members who are appointed by the Council President. The Planning Commission is vested with all the authority, powers and duties given to such commission by the provisions of said Act 285 of 1931, as amended, and the ordinances of the village, including the zoning ordinance.
