The Village of Lexington Police Department prides itself on providing high-quality professional services and law enforcement to all who live, work, and travel to the village. The chief of police is responsible for the operation of the Department. The Department is divided into three Divisions – Patrol, Investigations and Services.

The primary goal of the Department is the protection of life and property, prevention of crime, and apprehension of criminal perpetrators. The Department strives to provide a safe and secure environment for the residents of the Village and to those who work, travel, and shop here. The mission statement of the Department is:
