Tierney Park & Harbor Redevelopment Information

Latest Design Plan (Updated Feb 2025): Tierney Park Redesign

Current plan is for Tierney Park to close September 15, 2025 and remain closed through the spring as the park is renovated.  A new restroom and concession area will be built, along with a new amphitheater.  Other improvements are a replacement of underground infrastructure and drainage, parking area improvements and drop off areas.  Overall we are adding parking spaces.  The waterfront will be more walkable with a boardwalk running from the USACE breakwall to the south, tying into the private waterfront.  The DNR planned upgrade of dock systems is currently scheduled for the 2026/2027 off season.

While Tierney Park is closed, please visit Lexington County Park at 3885 Lakeshore just a few miles north.  Park is open 5/1 – 10/31.  Day use is open 8 am – 9 pm.
