Finance

  1. How do I sign up for Automatic Payment?

    Please fill out the Authorization and Enrollment form for Autopay Automatic Funds Transfer and bring it to the Village Office along with a voided check and proof of identity. If you are unable to come to the village office, you may submit it through email. Call the office for further information.

  2. How often do I get a water bill? Water bills are sent out by the 14th of every month.
  3. Where can I pay my water bill? Water bills can be mailed to the village office, put in the dropbox, located on both the north and south side of the building, be brought to the village office window, or through the auto-pay option.</em
  4. How do I schedule a final water meter reading? Please call the village clerk to schedule a final water meter reading.

  3. How do I get to Village Hall and the Police and Fire Department? The address to both the Fire Department and Police Department is 7227 Huron Avenue, Lexington Michigan. The Police Department office is located across from the Village office.
  4. Do I need a permit for a garage sale? All garage sales require a permit unless the sale is taking place on a holiday weekend. Two permits are allowed per year.
  5. How do I apply for a job with the Village of Lexington? The Village office provides job applications online and in the office to all Village of Lexington current job openings.
  6. How do I rent the Northshore MHP community center? Please contact the village office to rent the MHP community center.

Police/Fire

  1. How do I contact the Fire Department? For any non-emergency matters, The Lexington Fire Department can be contacted at (810) 359-5221.
  2. How do I contact the Lexington Police? The Lexington non-emergency phone number is (810)404-0623.
  3. Will the police department check my house while I’m out of town? Please fill out a Property Inspection Request Form and turn it into the Lexington Police Department.
  4. How do I register my golf cart? Fill out the golf cart permit form, have your golf cart inspected by a village police officer, and complete the payment of $125.00 to register your golf cart for two years.
  5. Am I able to burn in the village limits? Any burn pile with dimensions bigger than three feet by three feet is not allowed in the village. If any burn permits are requested they must be approved by the fire chief.

Water

Public Works

  1. There is a problem with a streetlight pole in my neighborhood. What should I do? Please report the streetlight problem, with its location, to the village office.
  2. I have a large item to dispose of. Can I put it out with regular trash? Customers are allowed one large item per week, such as a couch, chair, TVs, washers, dryers, mattresses. NO SOFA BEDS AND CARPET MUST BE BUNDLED IN 4 FT ROLLS. Freon must be removed from all refrigerators or freezers. Paint must be dried in the can. You can use sand or kitty litter to dry the paint. Customers MUST call Emterra USA to arrange large item pickup. Service is included in the monthly fee. Their number is 1-877-609-6753.
  3. Can I put building materials out for trash pick-up? Emterra Environmental USA will NOT pick up construction and building materials, tires, paint, or batteries.
  4. When is trash picked up? Trash is picked up on Monday. Please have your trash at the end of your driveway by 7 AM Monday morning.
  5. My trash/recyclables/yard waste wasn’t picked up. What should I do? Please call the village as early as possible if you notice your trash was missed.

Village Council

  1. Can I attend a Village Council Meeting? Yes. Members of the public are welcome and encouraged to attend all Village Council meetings.
  2. When does Village Council meet? Meetings are held at 7 PM on the 4th Monday of each month. The meetings will be held at the Lexington Village Hall (unless otherwise posted) at 7227 Huron Avenue, Lexington, MI 48450.
  3. How do I go about speaking to Village Council? Citizens may address Village Council, without prior notification, during the “Public Comment” portion of the Council meetings. Each person shall begin by stating their name and address and shall be permitted to speak once for three (3) minutes.

  5. How do I serve on a Village Board or Committee? Your interest and expressed willingness to serve the Village of Lexington are appreciated. Please fill out the Village of Lexington Authorities, boards, commissions, and committees’ application. The purpose of the application is to provide the President and Village Council with basic reference data and information pertaining to individuals being considered for appointment to a Village Council appointed Authority, Board, Commission or Committee. The information supplied on the form will be available only to the President and Village Council in their deliberation for such appointments.
