Scarecrow Land – Scarecrow Contest

Our MAIN GOAL is to make our streetscapes alive and fun for the season!

PARTICIPANTS

Anyone can participate. Highlight your business, showcase your band, group, friends & family, or anything you can imagine.

LOCATION

Any parcel within the Village can be used (with the owner’s permission). We are encouraging use along Main Street and Huron Avenue so people driving through can appreciate the creativity and effort.  

TIME

Set up starts any time after 9/22 (1st day of Fall). Judging on 10/14. Scarecrows stay up until Halloween. 

SCARECROW DESIGN GUIDELINES

Keep it decent. Remember there are children around.  Be creative. 

Consider the elements, especially wind; and make it as sturdy as possible.

JUDGING

A panel of 5 Judges will determine winners.  Criteria includes (but not limited to) Durability, Cleverness, WOW-factor. We may also have a social media-based people’s choice award. 

PRIZES

Prize money is being raised. 1st place 50%, 2nd place 30%, 3rd place 20%.

Winners and others will be featured on the Village Website.
