We are so pleased to announce that Tierney Park is now open for public use! While there are still a few remaining projects and finishing touches to complete, residents and visitors are welcome to enjoy the park. Thank you for your patience throughout the improvements.

PROJECT UPDATE!
The Tierney Park renovation project is well on its way to completion in late June. The majority of restroom/concession stand, and pavilion exterior work is now complete, and interior fixtures and finishes will follow close behind. Curbs for the new parking lots are being installed this week. Sidewalks, landscaping, and site furniture will follow close behind and are on track for completion in June. We are working with the Arts Council to enhance the popular Music in the Park program which will return in July.

Updates from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources:
“Lexington State Harbor will undergo four major maintenance and enhancement projects managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the DNR in 2026 and 2027. These projects will require a series of closures that will impact the marina, slip reservations, the fuel dock, sanitary pump-out station and the adjacent boating access site. These projects are in addition to the Tierney Park upgrades being performed by the Village of Lexington.”

Work continues on the new amphitheater and restroom facilities at Tierney Park. The amphitheater structure is taking shape, and construction on the restroom building is progressing as crews move forward with framing and exterior work. These improvements are an exciting step toward enhancing the park for community use.

Latest Project Update from Edgewater 1/5/26– Construction is progressing steadily with major demolition, site clearing, grading, and utility removal completed. Key infrastructure improvements include the installation of a new fuel tank, underground utilities, and foundational work for the new restroom and pavilion. Structural framing, roofing systems, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work are currently underway, while access to surrounding roads and neighboring properties is being maintained throughout construction.
Upcoming phases will focus on roadway paving, sidewalks, curbs, landscaping, site furnishings, lighting, and the completion of all exterior and interior architectural features.

Walls are up on the bathroom, and they have just started putting the roof on. Walls are going up on the amphitheater.
Footing for the new amphitheater have been completed!
Footings for the new bathhouse have been completed, and excavation is underway for the new stage footings.
The DNR parking lot is being removed to make way for the new oval green space. Materials from the site are being recycled and reused to build up the southern parking lot areas.
